” Water – The Cycle of Life”
Winning posters and essays advancing from local soil and water conservation district area contests are entered into the annual N.C. state level poster and essay contest held in late April at the Archdale Building in downtown Raleigh. The poster contest is for 3rd through 6th grades and the essay contest is for 6th graders. Carefully chosen judges evaluate posters by grade level to determine first and second place winners based on criteria previously set by the N.C. Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts. The association awards $200 to first place winners, $100 to second place winners and certificates to every participant at the state level. The contest, workshop and award handbook can be viewed HERE.
